Sniper North Seeking Gyros

Gyros - The Sniper North Seeking Gyro is composed of weapons grade micro-dynamically tuned Rate Gyro sensor(s) and an accelerometer package. Combined with the exact calculation of gyro inclination/azimuth relative to True North and the earth’s rotation makes it a very accurate surveying instrument. The Sniper Gyro consists of a surface controller, running gear and PC software. Gyro applications: surveying of drillpipe, casing, tubing and orientation of drillstring, whipstocks, and motors. The Sniper Gyro is capable of retrieving data to including inclination, azimuth, toolface, temperature, and vibration. The data is available in both Real-Time and Memory Mode.

There are (2) different Operating Modes: Real Time & Memory Mode. The Real-time Mode is generally run on Electric Wireline Unit. Whereas the Memory Mode can be run on: wireline, slickline, coil tubing, or below a logging string. Soon to come will be Memory Mode - Control Decent, the act of releasing the Gyro inside drillpipe and controlling the speed in which it descends to bottom with the pump rate. This enables the survey to be acquired on the trip out of the hole.
