Remote Drilling System
RDS - The Remote Drilling System (RDS) brings directional drilling services to the Internet in a multiuser collaborative environment enabling remote users to access all rig site data in real-time.
The system is designed to be compact and easily deployed. It can be monitored and operated both on-site and remotely providing maximum administrative and diagnostics flexibility with the system.
Remote and on-site users access the RDS system using a standard WEB browser through an Internet connection provided at the rig site. There is no end-user software to install and data is presented in real-time. The RDS is also compatible with most smart phone operating systems permitting users to login and monitor drilling activities while on the go.
Each user is authenticated for security clearance and is then presented with a user-friendly graphical interface to system. The data available to each user is determined by their login credentials.
All survey data, reports, precision log plots and data exporting can be generated on demand by the database applications that are built into the RDS system. Industry standard log plotting capabilities allow the user to generate plots on roll-paper plotters and ink jet printers. Surveys and logged data can be exported to LAS for CSV file formats. Well planning data can be imported and incorporated into the reports generated. The RDS also includes various functions such as real-time bit projections, email alert system, contact management and a variety of other useful functions.
Additionally, on-site rig WITS data can be incorporated into the RDS system for a complete rig site monitoring solution. The additional rig WITS data collected can be included in all reports, log plots, and data exports providing a comprehensive overview of all drilling activities at the rig site.
